COVID-19 Covid – 19
Covid 19 has
slowly taken over our ‘normal’ lives therefore, we have had to make changes to
the way we practice and do things here at Amberwood. Our top priority is
keeping our residents safe and well looked after no matter the circumstance.
Moving into
Amberwood
Thankfully we
are still able to allow new residents to move in, whether it be for a respite
stay or a view to be here for the long haul.
Before arrival
at the home, we ask that the prospective resident has a negative Covid-19 test
result, we can arrange this if necessary but prefer if the family take this
task on.
Upon arrival,
all residents’ belongings will be left in the porch by family/friends and we
will unpack it with the resident in their new room - the family are more than welcome to come into the new residents bedroom to help get them settled and unpack their belongings however, a negative LFT test result is to be shown beforehand.
Visiting
during Covid
We have a
visiting pod here at Amberwood that we all love. It has enabled us to see our
family and friends face to face. Our pod is completely Covid secure. We allow
multiple people to visit at once but there is a max capacity of 6 as the room is not the largest.
There are five, thirty-minute appointments available to book each day Monday to
Sunday. The pod is cleaned thoroughly by our domestic staff between each visit
to make it as safe as possible for all.
We also have a lounge inside of the home dedicated to visits. This lounge can be booked just like the visiting pod, there are 5 appointments available each day Monday - Sunday. Before coming inside the visiting lounge, you will be asked to provide a negative LFT test, this can be done at home with the appropriate NHS given tests or we can perform the test for you at the home 30 minutes before your visit. Inside the lounge we ask that PPE is to be worn.
Garden visits are available at Amberwood, though we do appreciate that the season is starting to change and it is becoming colder.
Window visits
are discretionary dependant on circumstance.

Communicating
with your Resident
We have many online platforms that we
have access to so that you can speak to your resident. We also have multiple
devices that can be used at the same time allowing multiple residents the
opportunity, should they wish, to speak to their family and friends.
Skype / Zoom / Facetime (Apple Devices)/ Residents Mobile(Phone
Calls & WhatsApp facetime)
All of our residents are more than welcome to use the devices available at the
home to contact their family and friends and assistance is available when and
where needed.
